• This class is designed for current A0 students who want to continue into new topics, especially Japanese verbs. It’s also a great fit for anyone who already knows basic grammar, hiragana, and katakana and would like to focus on verbs and their conjugations.

Level B1: You are currently able to:

• Deal with most travel situations in areas where the language is spoken.
• Fully understand conversation regarding family, work, school or leisure topics.
• Create simple texts on topics of personal interest.
• Describe experiences, events, dreams, and ambitions, as well as opinions or plans.

Learning a new language is a known way to enhance your ability to multitask, improve memory and communication skills, and upgrade your professional skills. Join UI on this journey! Regular classes meet once a week for a total of 75 minutes. Intensive classes meet twice a week for a total of 90 minutes. Classes are online and in-person. Students MUST BE members of UI in order to take a language class. Fees are NON-REFUNDABLE unless cancelled by UI.

  • Understand the main ideas of a complex text such as a writing piece related to their field.
  • Unexpectedly interact easily in foreign language, without problems for the learner or the native speaker.
  • Produce a detailed text on a wide range of subjects.
